Legion Brewing announced today that it will open its second location in SouthPark. The first brewery to this submarket, Legion has signed a lease for approximately 8,500 square feet on the ground-level of Lincoln Harris’ 500,000 square foot Capitol Towers Class-A office development. In addition to an award-winning beer selection, Legion will offer an upscale menu, an outdoor beer garden, and an event space.
“We intend to stay true to our company values at our new location in SouthPark. Our original location in Plaza Midwood is a community hub where old and new friends connect over good beer.” explains Phil Buchy, Managing Partner of Legion Brewing Company. “We’re really excited to bring Legion Brewing to SouthPark and its surrounding neighborhoods. Capitol Towers, in particular, offers a premium location for this area of Charlotte that is primed for an appealing neighborhood brewery and taproom restaurant.”
The new taproom will boast more than 20 taps and will also serve beer directly from aged oak barrels. Guests can expect a food menu consisting of wood-fired dishes including Tender Grilled Skirt Steak Sandwich with provolone cheese, tomatoes and lettuce served with steak cut fries; Pepperoni, Zucchini and Ricotta Grilled Pizza; and Southern Pickled Shrimp with Cornbread Crostinis.
Legion’s new location will host nearly 4,000 square feet of event space, separated into three event rooms available for rent. One event room will have its own private patio, while the other two event rooms will be located on the Mezzanine level overlooking the brewery and bar area. The event spaces will be perfect venues to host parties, dinners, and corporate meetings.
Co-Owner Newton Craver is also thrilled about the upcoming expansion saying, “The reception we have received from our friends in Plaza Midwood since opening two years ago has been incredible; all we ever envisioned and more. I’m confident that Legion Brewing will be a terrific addition to the South Park community as well.”
The aesthetic of the new taproom will be consistent with the SouthPark neighborhood and guests can expect it to have a relatively more modern, upscale appearance while maintaining the warmth and comfortable feel that Legion Brewing is known for.
